Pupuk Indonesia Sends Aid and 50 Volunteers to Support Disaster-Affected Communities in Aceh
Jakarta, 20 December 2025 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has dispatched humanitarian aid and volunteers to support emergency response and disaster recovery efforts following flooding in Aceh. Pupuk Indonesia’s assistance was deployed through a collaborative aid program involving Danantara Indonesia and the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Body (BP BUMN).
Senior Vice President of Social and Environmental Responsibility (SVP TJSL) of Pupuk Indonesia, Frans Ginting, explained that the assistance provided includes 34 clean water storage tanks distributed to Aceh Tamiang and East Aceh. Pupuk Indonesia has also deployed 50 volunteers and established the “BUMN Peduli Aceh Command Post” in Pade Ara WT Village, Woyla District, West Aceh Regency, to support accelerated recovery efforts. In addition, Pupuk Indonesia is scheduled to send another 25 clean water tanks to North Aceh on Monday (22/12/2025).
“Floods and landslides in Sumatra, including Aceh, have been occurring since the end of November. However, based on data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), there are still hundreds of thousands of people displaced and in need of assistance from various parties. Alhamdulillah, Pupuk Indonesia is able to continue providing aid in stages,” said Frans in Jakarta on Saturday (20/12/2025).
Through this assistance, Frans stated that Pupuk Indonesia aims to support disaster-affected communities so they do not feel that they are facing this tragedy alone. Pupuk Indonesia seeks to be present alongside affected communities, enabling faster post-disaster recovery.
“No one wishes for disasters to occur. Hopefully, Pupuk Indonesia’s contribution can help accelerate the recovery process,” he said.
Finally, he expressed hope that affected communities would remain resilient despite the losses of property and family members. “We hope the victims remain strong. This assistance is a tangible expression of the care and presence of Pupuk Indonesia employees for the people of Sumatra in facing disasters,” Frans concluded.
Danantara Indonesia, together with BP BUMN, has mobilized 1,066 volunteers and 109 aid transport trucks to support emergency response and disaster recovery efforts in several affected regions, with Aceh designated as one of the initial priority areas. Pupuk Indonesia has taken an active role in this initiative.
Meanwhile, Chief Operating Officer of Danantara Indonesia and Head of BP BUMN, Dony Oskaria, stated that this initiative is part of a consolidated support effort by the extended BUMN family across Sumatra. Through this program, BUMN has deployed cross-sector volunteers, logistical support, and operational resources to ensure that aid reaches affected communities quickly, accurately, and in accordance with on-the-ground needs.
“BUMN belongs to the people of Indonesia. Therefore, whenever the people are in need, our presence is not a choice but an obligation. Since the onset of the disaster, we have emphasized that BUMN’s presence is not merely complementary, but a manifestation of responsibility as state-owned enterprises,” said Dony Oskaria.
