Pupuk Indonesia Supports the Polewali Mandar Agricultural Extension Jamboree to Strengthen the Role of Agricultural Extension Officers
Polewali Mandar, 29 December 2025 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has supported the Agricultural Extension Officers (PPL) Jamboree held in Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi. The event serves as a strategic forum for agricultural extension officers to enhance their capacity, strengthen coordination, and align understanding in assisting farmers and implementing subsidized fertilizer policy governance at the field level.
General Manager of Regional 4 Pupuk Indonesia, Wisnu Ramadhani, stated that the company’s support for the PPL Jamboree reflects its commitment to strengthening the strategic role of agricultural extension officers.
“Pupuk Indonesia is present as a partner to local governments and agricultural extension officers. Through our support for the PPL Jamboree, we hope extension officers will gain a more comprehensive understanding of fertilizer distribution mechanisms as well as product knowledge, enabling them to provide more optimal assistance to farmers,” Wisnu said.
On this occasion, Pupuk Indonesia presented data on the realization of subsidized fertilizer distribution in Polewali Mandar Regency, which reached 24,206 tons, or 66 percent of the 2025 allocation. This information is expected to further strengthen the role of PPLs in assisting farmers so that subsidized fertilizer distribution aligns with e-RDKK data and applicable regulations.
In addition, Pupuk Indonesia also provided product knowledge reinforcement to jamboree participants, focusing on NPK Pelangi Kakao, a subsidized NPK fertilizer with a special 14-12-16-4 formulation produced through a mechanical blending process.
This fertilizer contains macro- and micronutrients required by cocoa plants, including Nitrogen (N) 14%, Phosphate (P₂O₅) 12%, Potassium (K₂O) 16%, as well as supporting elements Magnesium (MgO) 4%, Calcium (CaO) 4%, Sulfur (S) 3%, and micronutrients Zinc (Zn) 0.3% and Boron (B) 0.4%. This nutrient combination supports plant growth, flowering, fruit formation, and increased cocoa productivity.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Polewali Mandar expressed appreciation for Pupuk Indonesia’s support of the PPL Jamboree. According to him, the involvement of the business sector, including Pupuk Indonesia, adds value to strengthening extension officers’ capacity and reinforcing the regional agricultural sector.
“We warmly welcome Pupuk Indonesia’s support for this PPL Jamboree. Synergy between local government, extension officers, and strategic partners such as Pupuk Indonesia is essential to boosting agricultural productivity and improving farmers’ welfare in Polewali Mandar,” he said.
Through this support, Pupuk Indonesia reaffirmed its role as a provider of agricultural production inputs that not only focuses on fertilizer distribution but also actively contributes to strengthening agricultural human resource capacity.
Pupuk Indonesia hopes that the synergy built through the Polewali Mandar PPL Jamboree will support more orderly and targeted subsidized fertilizer distribution, as well as sustainable improvements in agricultural productivity across West Sulawesi.
This is particularly relevant as the Government has reduced the Highest Retail Price (HET) of subsidized fertilizers by 20 percent. Under this policy, farmers registered in e-RDKK can redeem subsidized fertilizers at lower and more affordable prices through official kiosks or authorized retailers in their respective areas. Registered farmers wishing to redeem fertilizers are encouraged to visit partner kiosks or official retailers with their National Identity Card (KTP) and cash equivalent to their allocated subsidized fertilizer, using the i-Pubers application.
In addition to being attended by the Regent of Polewali Mandar, the PPL Jamboree was also attended by officials from the Polewali Mandar Regency Agriculture Office and Agricultural Extension Officers from all sub-districts.
